JAZZ CAMP

GRADES 7TH - 12TH

August 4th - 8th 9am - 4:30pm

Tuition: $400/$325/$250
Tiered on a pay what you can scale.

Participants will come to campus to learn about all aspects of jazz performance including improvisation, playing in an ensemble, theory, ear training, and more.  These skills will be honed in masterclasses, workshops, clinics, and private lessons offered throughout the week, just in time to go back to band class in the fall!

Open to instruments and vocalists.

  • Dan Taylor

    INSTRUCTOR

    Dan Taylor is a piano teacher and performer living in Snoqualmie, Washington. Before opening his private piano studio in 2024 , Dan served the Snoqualmie Valley as a middle school band director for ten years. Dan is in high demand as a clinician and guest artist and often works with students of all ages across Washington state in the areas of jazz band, jazz choir, concert band, and as an accompanist for both large ensembles and soloists. 

    Dan earned his Bachelor’s and Master's degrees from Central Washington University. As a performer, Dan can be found on stage with big bands and small groups with some of the best players in the Seattle area.

  • Tim Zanol

    INSTRUCTOR

    Tim Zanol is a professional musician who splits his time between Wenatchee High School band programs, the Wenatchee Big Band, and session playing all over the world. He earned is BA from University of Montana. Tim’s career has included work as a touring musician, doing residencies, and session work with some of the world best jazz players in the world.

  • Seth Garrido

    INSTRUCTOR

    A lifelong resident of Washington State, Garrido is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He studied saxophone, composition, and jazz performance at Central Washington University, and is well versed in many genres from country western to be bop, swing to soul. His album Heavy Handed Heart was released in 2021. Seth is deeply committed to his community of musicians, friends and family and is passionate about human connection via songwriting and storytelling

  • Rhia Foster

    INSTRUCTOR

    Rhia Foster earned her performance degree at Berklee College of Music with a focus in vocal jazz. She teaches music at Wenatchee Valley College, at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, and privately.

  • Camp directors will reach out prior to the start of camp with a list of items that should or should not be brought to camp.

  • Camp may differ with rules concerning cell phones and electronics but generally, our camps are screen free spaces. Camp directors will include more information concerning devices as camp dates approach.

  • There are lots of places to stay in Leavenworth. The Sleeping Lady Resort is right next door to Icicle Creek Center for the Arts or you can visit leavenworth.org to explore more options.

  • If you cancel:

    By April 1, receive refund of all payments except $25 fee

    Between April 2 and 14 days before start of camp receive 50% refund of all payments except $25 fee

    Less than 14 days before start of camp, no refunds will be made
